David Needham

President, Business Management

David began his fitness career as a Division III Basketball player at Elmira College. He then worked as a personal trainer while earning his degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology at Sam Houston State University.

In 2012, David fell in love with CrossFit after watching a local competition. He became a Level 1 CrossFit Coach in 2013 and a Level 2 in 2019.

David is a co-owner of IGNIUM Strength + Conditioning, owner of CrossFit Brave and co-owner of CrossFit HSP. He is also a full-time firefighter with the City of Durham.

Brandon Davis

General Manager/Head Coach

Brandon has played and competed in football, soccer, triathlons and mud runs. He is certified in Level 1 and Level 2 CrossFit and has been coaching for more than 10 years.

In 2016, Brandon began competing in weightlifting, powerlifting and strongman. He placed 6th as an Olympic lifter for Team USA at the 2019 Masters World Championship.

Brandon served five years in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman. He enjoys helping people become stronger and healthier through functional fitness. He is passionate about eating stacks upon stacks of pancakes.

Nick Schuenemann

Vice President, Assistant Manager

In 2017, Nick, his wife and their two small children left New Jersey for North Carolina. Soon after, Nick turned 40 and discovered he had fatty liver disease. He realized he was in poor health physically and mentally.

At his wife’s urging, Nick joined a fitness challenge – he changed his eating habits, maintained his attendance streak and embraced the encouragement of others. Nick lost 30 lbs. of fat and gained 10 lbs. of muscle.

In 2020, Nick became an owner of IGNIUM Strength + Conditioning. He is certified in CrossFit Level 1 and 2.
